Casa Verde is a for-profit residential developer and builder. Our niche in the market is Green construction, using Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ certification as our standard.
LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their building’s performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
There is a groundswell of support for Green construction in all parts of the U.S. The City of Chicago has an official Green initiative which encourages LEED certified construction through incentives. Mayor Bart Peterson announced a wide-ranging environmental plan on May 15, 2007 called, the IndyGreenPrint, to step up the city’s efforts to promote conservation, energy efficiency and climate protection. The concern over global climate change and the popularity of hybrid cars are the macro evidence of public acceptance and interest in renewable resources and sustainable development. Rising energy prices brings an additional market advantage to Green built products.
We will build a high-quality product infused with the latest Green technologies. Our homes will be the most energy efficient in the city, with targeted savings of 60% on utility bills compared to traditionally built homes. We will focus on using Green building materials from renewable resources with low contribution to indoor air pollution and emissions. This will provide the homeowner with a healthy living environment from high indoor air quality created by low emission construction products. An additional benefit to the community at-large is a reduction on the stresses to utility infrastructure and air quality.
